The USB over Ethernet extender is comprised of both the local and remote units, joined via network cable; the local unit (transmitter) is USB-powered, which eliminates the need for multiple power outlets at the local end. The remote/receiver unit is powered by a separate power adapter and features four USB 2.0 ports that can be connected directly to USB devices or to a USB hub for additional remote ports.
Supporting full Hi-Speed USB 2.0 data transfer speeds up to 480Mbps, the extender is also backward compatible with USB 1.0/1.1 (1.1Mbps/12Mbps respectively); designed to provide dependable, long-lasting USB device performance over long distances, the USB 2.0 extender is backed by StarTech.com's 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support.
