Jumper Caps

A jumper (or jumper shunt) is a small, plastic covered conductor that closes or opens an electrical circuit by connecting or disconnecting two electrical contact points (jumper pins), essentially acting as an on/off switch. Jumpers are found on a wide range of computer technology, including motherboards, I/O cards, hard drives etc.
