This Enhanced Serial Console Server enables system administrators and network managers to affordably monitor and control their computers and networks remotely, from anywhere in the world over a TCP/IP connection (e.g. LAN, Internet).
The console server provides consolidated access to serial consoles on devices such as UNIX, Linux and Solaris servers, routers, switches, PBXs and telecommunications equipment (DSLAMs) and power distribution units (PDUs), and enables an unrestricted number of distributed users to control serial consoles, allowing remote and local administrators to use a single console server (ECS0016) to manage all of their IT equipment from one location.
To ensure optimized control and monitoring of connected devices, the serial console server provides
Out-of-band access – creating a time-saving workaround in the event of a power outage by allowing systems to be accessed through alternate means (e.g. dial-up modem, etc).
