DisplayPort

The term DisplayPort refers to a method of connectivity used between a computer display and a host computer or a computer and a home theater system, that is capable of transmitting both audio and video signals through a single cable.

The current version of DisplayPort (1.1) supports a maximum of 8.64 Gbit/s data rate and display resolutions of up to WQXGA (2560×1600), making it ideal for a broad range of uses including digital signage and point-of-sale.
