Interface Converter

Interface Converter is a generic term used to describe a device that allows a connection to be made between equipment with dissimilar combinations of standard communication interfaces. An interface converter also allows for the two devices to work in unison with varying signal levels. Interface converters are usually comprised of two different ports, an internal switch that decides which interface is going to be converted, an LED indicator that shows which lines are active leading into the device, and yet another LED indicator that aids in troubleshooting the device."
