S-Video is the abbreviated term used to describe a type of video interface that separates the transmission into two distinct signals – Luminance and modulated chrominance. Capable of transmitting video resolutions of up to 480i and 576i, an S-Video connector consists of a 4-pin mini-din connector, as illustrated in figure X-X.

Common applications: Consumer electronics including television, DVD players, VCRs, game consoles and PC video cards.
