Ethernet KVM

Ethernet KVM, or KVM Over IP, refers to KVM functionality using a LAN or Internet connection, as opposed a direct connection between the KVM Switch and the slave computer(s). This technology allows control of remote computers at greater distances than those offered by conventional KVM Switches by converting keyboard, video and mouse signals to IP packets that are sent over the network. At the receiving end of the network, the KVM over IP switch that is connected to the network and to the other computers converts the IP packets back into KVM signals.
