PCIE

PCI Express or PCIE is an I/O interconnect bus standard that is based on the PCI interconnect standard, that offers higher speed operation of connected components. PCI Express is a bi-directional serial connection that carries data in packets along dual point-to-point data lanes, compared to the single parallel data bus provided by the PCI standard. The PCI Express standard arose from the need to allow peripherals to match the advanced speeds of recent CPUs; PCI Express (Personal Component Interconnect Express) offers distinct advantages over its original PCI predecessor, including scalable performance, high bandwidth, and a point to point link dedicated to each device (as opposed to the PCI shared bus format).
