USB CAT5 Extender

A USB CAT5 Extender is a device used to expand the distance between a USB host and a connected USB peripheral, using CAT5 cable. Typically, this type of signal extension is performed by installing a local and remote "unit" near the host and peripheral devices respectively, requiring only a short distance of actual USB cable between the host and the local "unit", and the peripheral and the remote "unit". The two units are then connected to each other using a CAT5 cable, and in turn transmitting between host and peripheral units.
