Component Audio / Video cables

Component audio video cables use a total of five cables to transmit their signal. Out of the five cables, three are used to carry a Component video signal, while the remaining two cables are used to transfer a corresponding RCA audio signal to the desired equipment. The RCA connectors use a two wire system composed of a signal wire and a ground wire all contained in a jacket made typically of PVC, and the connectors are usually coated in either gold or silver which increases conductivity.
