16 Port Enhanced RS232 Serial Console Server
ECS0016GBThis Enhanced Serial Console Server enables system administrators and network managers to affordably monitor and control their computers and networks remotely, from anywhere in the world over a TCP/IP connection (e.g. LAN, Internet).
The console server provides consolidated access to serial consoles on devices such as UNIX, Linux and Solaris servers, routers, switches, PBXs and telecommunications equipment (DSLAMs) and power distribution units (PDUs), and enables an unrestricted number of distributed users to control serial consoles, allowing remote and local administrators to use a single console server (ECS0016) to manage all of their IT equipment from one location.
To ensure optimized control and monitoring of connected devices, the esrial console server provides Out-of-band access – creating a time-saving workaround in the event of a power outage by allowing systems to be accessed through alternate means (e.g. dial-up modem, etc).

The StarTech.com Advantage
- Web GUI control can be accessed remotely via mobile devices including Windows Media, and Iphone type devices.
- Utilities, ISP and carriers can actively administer and maintain their distributed infrastructures, securely utilizing public communications channels
- Thorough user security allows full control and limitations over critical systems; thereby an adminstrator can allow a junior user time saving access to a single device they're qualified to operate.
- Store macros of command lines as custom buttons, and access multiple types of devices and servers without the need to remember IP addresses, logins, or functions.
- Solution providers and MSPs (Managed Service Providers) can now provide their remote customers with lower support costs and value added services, while preventing disruptive outages.
- SMBs can afford a level of security and quality of service till now only found in major data centers and NOCs
- Remotely access and restore systems and servers even when the communications network is down using out-of-band access via a modem.
- Major data centers and NOCs (Network Operating Centers) can seamlessly integrate next generation servers and new management solutions in with their existing enterprise management tools
- Distributed enterprises can securely manage their branch offices, maximizing up time and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations
