Global IT accessory manufacturer recognized on two rankings for long term growth
London, ON. - September 27, 2019 - StarTech.com is celebrating a year of growth and company accomplishments with the announcement of their inclusion on two of Canada’s most prestigious business achievement lists. The global leader in hard-to-find connectivity products has been named on the 2019 Growth 500 ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies and The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business 2019 list of Canada’s Top Growing Companies. In addition to the growth recognized by these two esteemed rankings, StarTech.com increased its global presence by entering three new markets in 2019, as well as well as opening a distribution centre in the APAC region.
Receiving recognitions in two of Canada’s top business achievement lists is a proud accomplishment for StarTech.com. For the seventh consecutive year, they have been named on the Growth 500, which ranks Canadian businesses on five-year revenue growth. In conjunction with this, to be listed on the first annual Globe & Mail/Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies, demonstrates the consistent progression of the company and its customer reach over the years. The company has grown from humble roots, being founded in 1985 in London, Ontario, Canada, to now being recognized as a global leader in IT connectivity, achieving growth of 181% over the past 5 years.
To facilitate further growth and improve accessibility for customers, StarTech.com has continued to expand their global reach by introducing new markets and warehouse locations. In 2019 alone, the connectivity manufacturer began operations in Singapore, Colombia and Peru. After successfully launching these markets and seeing product demand increase, StarTech.com opened a Distribution Centre in Hong Kong to better serve their customers in the Asia Pacific regions.
StarTech.com also recently finalized plans to move their US Distribution Centre to a location that allotted for almost two-times the space of their current warehouse, providing access to a higher volume of products, improved efficiency and space to grow the US Distribution Centre team. As their customer base continues to expand, so does its team. StarTech.com surpassed the 500-employee milestone this year and doubled its workforce over the past 5 years.
Lynn Smurthwaite-Murphy, President and CEO of StarTech.com says:
“Being included for the seventh consecutive year in the Growth 500, coupled with our inclusion in the inaugural Report on Business Ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the StarTech.com organization. Through our focus on the changing needs of IT professionals across the world, we’ve been able to forge new territory, entering new markets and, through growing demand, expanding our distribution capacity. As always, our primary focus is discovering new ways to serve IT professionals, and these recognitions and expansions only help us further progress on our journey.”
