Special Notes / Requirements
Note This docking station does not provide full power delivery but will provide 15W of power, resulting in a slow charge to some laptops, such as MacBook Pro (2016). When the dock is connected to your host laptop, a charging icon may appear on your laptop's screen. This is only sufficient enough to charge your laptop in sleep state, and charging will require an extended time period.
5K support can only be achieved using a Thunderbolt 3 5K monitor. DisplayPort 5K monitors will not work with this docking station.
A 4K-capable display is required to achieve 4K x 2K resolution (4K is also known as 4K x 2K).
Certain monitors may be limited to 4K at 30Hz when connecting through DisplayPort. These monitors include the following models: Dell P2715Q, Viewsonic VX2475Smhl-4K, Philips 288P6LJEB, LG 31MU97C-B, Asus PB287Q (these models will need to be set to 4K at 30Hz).
When connecting a display to one of the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports, a USB-C video adapter might be required depending on the input of your display.
USB 3.0 is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1; this connectivity standard offers speeds up to 5Gbps. USB 3.1 Gen 2 offers speeds up to 10Gbps.
Your computer’s Thunderbolt 3 ports might not function properly until you update one or more of the following on your computer:
• Thunderbolt firmware
• Thunderbolt 3 controller drivers
• Thunderbolt 3 software
The required updates will vary depending on your computer.
For an up-to-date list of affected computers and instructions, visit If your computer's manufacturer isn’t listed on the Thunderbolt website, contact your manufacturer.

(2 stars) Inconsistent selection of monitors is annoying

By: ChrisB
For the most part this dock works, however there is one problem with it that would prevent me from recommending this product to anyone. I have 2 displays connected to the display port (one in landscape and one in portrait orientation) and each time I plug my laptop in its like roulette determining the orientation of the displays. I have to keep unplugging and plugging them in until the proper display order is selected. Additionally, the unit is very sensitive to touches or bumps - each time I slightly touch or bump the dock, it disconnects and reconnects to my Macbook.

When i bought this 4 months back it worked all well until today when all the USB ports stopped working. I experienced this with Mac. When i googled around, looks like this is a common problem with this.

Hello Ravi, We're sorry to hear the USB ports on the TB3DKDPMAW are no longer recognized. We recommend doing an SMC reset on the Mac as the "System Management Controller" handles the Thunderbolt 3 ports on the computer. You can find instructions for this process here: . If the SMC reset does not fix the issue, or if you need any assistance, please contact us at so that we can help fix this problem for you. Our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week to provide support.

(1 star) Sais no charging but still adds power to tb3 port

By: Faster
Bought About 7 months ago. Used on a Brand new Dell G7 laptop. Kept getting a warning about power to a non power port. Even talked to guy at company who didnt really think it would hurt anything. Then my graphics card wouldn't give any signal. 2 1/2 month old laptop sent in with bad motherboard. The device worked great loved the 40gb pass through no complaints accept it most likely fried my motherboard. I wish I could be proved wrong. Now I'm stuck with an expensive paper weight. They should have a non power connecter adapter that has 40gb pass through non power support.

Thanks for sharing this feedback with us. Since power delivery is negotiated between the docking station and the laptop, it is extremely unlikely our docking station caused the failure. If you wish, we would be happy to arrange you sending us the docking station and conducting an inspection of it. We've also emailed you directly about this situation as we really do want to help. We hope to hear from you soon!

Thank you for your feedback on TB3DKDPMAW. We're sorry it isn't charging your laptop. This dock doesn't feature power delivery, so it will provide 15W at most to the host computer which isn't enough to charge most computers. For a Thunderbolt 3 dock with power delivery, we suggest our TB3DK2DPPD or TB3DOCK2DPPD.

(5 stars) It's perfect!

By: morty
This docking station is all about convenience! It provides high quality, dual monitor functionality and the multiple usb and thunderbolt ports allow me to connect and charge all my mobile devices. Performance is not an issue. I found the high speed Ethernet connection to be very reliable. The mic and headphone jacks are a bonus….this device has everything! With only one connection to my laptop, the docking station is so easy to disconnect when I’m on the go. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

(5 stars) Excellent docking station!

By: ShawnO_15
Very nice docking station, solidly built and has a good weight so it doesn't shift around from connected cable weight. Speaking of cabling, the provided power cable is a great length, but the thunderbolt cable was shorter than I would have liked, though this is easily fixed with an alternate cable. Though this device comes with many connections I would have more USB ports but that is simply a personal preference. It should be noted that while there appear to be two thunderbolt ports it should be noted that at least one of them will be used to connect the dock to the computer. Still an excellent dock for its size, weight and cost. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

(3 stars) Good dock - needs power delivery to be great

By: macphoto1970_102
For connections this is a great dock. The options of Audio, ethernet, usb-c, thunderbolt 3, usb 3.o and display port are all great things to have Why they left out charging is beyond me? Oh well almost perfect. The dock is well built and has a good weight to it. This helps keep the dock in one spot so it doesn't move around a lot with the cables causing it to slide. The options for displays are great. You can use 2 4k displays at once and the resolution and picture are excellent. Overall a good dock. I would look for some of the other docks though if you want power delivery. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

(5 stars) Works great with my 15" 2018 MacBook Pro!

By: alex828
Bought this to replace a $50 doc I bought that only supported 1 monitor. This one supports my 2 4K Dell Monitors and charges my 2018 MBP. Setup is simple and then even give you some cables. Works 100% - Love having 3 screens to work with.

(1 star) Not as expected.

By: Billywaz
Was so happy with this dock. Was working perfectly... Until my MacBook shut down on me. This dock isn’t a “single cable” use. Doesn’t charge your MacBook when you are using it.

Thank you for your feedback on our TB3DKDPMAW, we apologize for any confusion about this product You are correct that this dock does not support full power delivery. We state in the product overview and technical specifications that it is only able to support up to 15W of power. If you are looking for a similar solution with full power delivery we recommend our TB3DK2DPPD instead. For the best recommendations for your setup feel free to contact us directly and one of our Technical Advisors would be happy to help further.
