Overview

This palm-sized print server makes it easy to share a USB printer with users on your network. It’s the ideal solution for home or small office networks.

Reliable, cost-efficient network printing

Enjoy cost-efficient network printing for multiple users. The USB 10/100 Mbps print server lets you share one USB printer with multiple users on your network, instead of having to buy separate printers for each individual workstation.

Place your shared printer in a convenient location

With web-based management, you can set up and monitor the printer server through a web browser, so you can place your printer at any convenient shared location - there’s no need to put your printer next to your computer. You can send print jobs to another user in your home or office, or even to a printer in another country.

Easy to use and install

Compact and lightweight, the print server is easy to install with its straightforward installation wizards and remote web-based management. You simply use a USB cable to connect the print server to your printer’s USB port, then use an RJ45 networking cable to connect it to the rest of your network.

Supports LPR network printing and Bonjour Print Services

The printer server supports the Line Printer Remote (LPR) protocol which enables Internet printing. It also supports Bonjour Print Services, making it easier to find and configure printers on your network.

The PM1115U2 is backed by a StarTech.com 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support.

(1 star) Constantly Drops off LAN

By:
I bought this product to enable the office to share a USB Dymo label printer. I constantly have to reboot it for it to work even though I have bind MAC-IP on the router. Please update the firmware so this stop causing us issues. Thank you

(1 star) Mostly useless

By:
I have found the same problems with the device. Stays online for anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, and then all network connections stop working. Light still flashes, but has to be rebooted. The device is supposed to make printing easy to use... Having to explain to them that "before you can print you have to restart this device every time" is really unacceptable. I contacted support and their method to get me to test was to "Would it be possible if you can test the PM1115U2 on a test PC and have the print server connected directly to the PC’s Ethernet port without a network" I'm not sure what this would achieve. This is not how computers work. Unless I use a crossover cable; or do some other such messing around, this wouldn't allow me to print

(3 stars) Not a bad product.

If you want to get this device to work without dropping add a reserved address for it in your router or print server

(1 star) Same Problem as Jacky dropping off the network

By:
Bought this and set it up, it works for a few and then drops off of the network .. cannot ping it nor can I browse the server ... tried to set it to a static address and with dhcp and the same thing happens. Only solution is to disconnect the power and reconnect it. I had the same thing happen with two different adapters. had to remove them from the network and find another solution. :(

Hi Jacky, Thanks for letting us know about this. You mentioned moving to a new office. It is possible that with the office change, the server is looking for the IP address it was associated with at the previous location. Have you tried removing the printer from your system and manually setting the server up again? We have some helpful FAQs that may be of some assistance to you. They can be found here: https://www.startech.com/Networking-IO/Print/usb-print-server~PM1115U2#dnlds I have also sent your information to our Technical Advisors to get in touch with you via email to provide additional assistance. Thank you.
