This VGA to HDMI® converter and scaler lets you connect your analog VGA video signal to a digital HDMI display. It features a built-in video scaler that adjusts the output signal to suit virtually any HDMI display. It scales the signal to your choice of resolutions, up to 1080p.

The converter and scaler features 3.5mm and optical audio inputs, which let you combine audio into the HDMI output. The scaler creates a digital signal at high resolutions that's perfect for updating legacy VGA video equipment to work with newer HDMI televisions or projectors.

Ensure compatibility between your VGA source and HDMI display

New HDMI displays are phasing out support for lower resolution video signals such as 480i, 480p, and 720p. Without support for these common VGA resolutions, you may not be able to use a standard adapter to connect your legacy video output to your new display.

This converter lets you continue using your current VGA source equipment by scaling your video signal to a resolution that’s compatible with your new HDMI display. Scaling your source enables you to upgrade to a sleek new HDMI display while keeping your tried-and-true source material on display at trade shows and storefronts.

Continue using your reliable VGA source

Upgrading every component in your A/V setup can be costly and time consuming. Retaining your source can save you the cost and hassle of buying and configuring new equipment. With the VGA to HDMI converter, you can bridge the gap between old and new technologies by converting your dependable VGA source to high-resolution HDMI.

Enjoy hassle-free operation

This converter features automatic resolution detection that minimizes your setup time by avoiding tedious programming. Plus, it features an intuitive on-screen menu that lets you customize the parameters of your input to quickly select and compare different output options, ensuring you get the best video solution possible in a very short time period.

Notes: This converter does not output digitally-encrypted content. This converter is the direct replacement for VGA2HDMIPRO.

The VGA2HDPRO2 and is backed by a 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support.

Before You Buy

This is an active video signal converter.

A passive video signal converter changes the type of connection that is being used but does not change the signal that passes through the converter. Because the video signal is not modified, passive converters tend to be smaller, simpler, and less expensive than active video signal converters. Examples of passive converters include DVI-I to VGA, HDMI to DVI, and DisplayPort to Mini-DisplayPort converters.

An active video signal converter modifies both the type of connection that is being used and the signal that passes through the converter. Because this type of conversion can be complex, active converters tend to be larger than passive video signal converters and sometimes require additional power. Examples of active converters include DVI-D to VGA, HDMI to DisplayPort, and VGA to HDMI converters.

For more information about passive and active DisplayPort video signal converters, refer to the following FAQ:

I bought this thinking to use with my setup for vintage gameplay capture using MSDOS but it does not support 720x400 resolution and its impossible to access the BIOS computer to make adjustments.

We apologize the VGA2HDPRO2 didn't work for your intended setup. While it does work with a wide range of standard resolutions, 720x400 isn't one that's officially supported. A supported resolution list is available under the Technical Specifications section on the product page.

Excellent VGA to HDMI Scaler

By: hubj4632 - 08/19/2018
I have been in the AV/IT Integration space for over 30 years. I found this unit easy to setup and use. I particularly like the automatic resolution detection that minimizes setup time. The intuitive on-screen menu allows customization of input parameters so you can compare various output options. The unit also features both a 3.5mm and optical audio inputs, allowing you to combine audio into the HDMI output. This unit creates a digital signal at high resolutions that worked flawlessly with the various flat panels and projectors which I tested. These include LG, Samsung, Dell, Optima, Sharp and Vizio. The unit installs quickly. Plug and play!

By: andrewxs11 - 09/14/2018
With this product I was able to quickly and easily convert VGA signals from several older PC’s to a new HDMI-equipped TV. It worked immediately without any setup or configuration. Setup took about a minute. On-screen controls were easy to use and allowed me to fine-tune the picture to fit the screen. There was some “ghosting” in dark areas (on a large TV) but overall the picture quality was crisp and clear. The manual in the box advised there was a more complete manual on the website (for more OSD instructions) but I was not able to find one, instead there was just a slightly different version of the same manual with some more basic instructions. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review

Easy setup and just works.

By: ShawnO_10 - 09/17/2018
I was able to just plug this device in, hook up the required cables and everything just worked. No configuration required other than physically connecting cables. All the cables you might need are included, with the exception of the output HDMI. Video output to the TV I attempted was crisp and clear. There is additional configuration options available if you wish to adjust the input and output settings. I did not find it necessary to alter the settings that the device auto configured. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

Do not use for vintage computers

By: Olfolf - 11/12/2019
There is only some specific types of input that works in the specified supported solutions. E.g. for 640x480 i managed to find two working monitor preferences in my amiga: productivity and euro72. Non of the interlaced modes works. A bit waste of money at the moment. I will check to see which horizontal frequencies it accepts and then try to find alternative modes. Very disappointed :(

Matt, Customer support on 11/15/2019 2:52:07 PM
We pride ourselves on our high-quality standards and are sorry to hear that our VGA2HDPRO2 did not work with your devices. When connected to a source that is 640x480, this converter supports 59.94 and 60Hz refresh rates. If your devices use a lower refresh rate that could be the reason they aren't showing up through the adapter. We'd be happy to look into this further with you though. If you require any assistance, please feel free to contact us at where our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week to provide support.
