December 17, 2015
PR: USBC Adapter
Lockbourne, OH - December 16, 2015 - , a leading manufacturer of hard-to-find connectivity parts, has announced the release of a new USB-C Adapter Cable for 2.5” SATA Drives (SKU: USB31CSAT3CB) that offers users the ability to use their USB-C enabled computer to access the data on a 2.5” hard drive or SSD with high performance speeds. A USB-A port version (SKU: USB3S2SAT3CB) has also been released that uses the backward compatibility of a USB-A port and supports UASP.
The new USB-C adapter cable lets users utilize the new USB-C port on their laptop and access hard drives without any hassle or additional software. The cable is small and compact, perfect for mobile access of hard drives, much like the USB-A port version. Users can manage hard drives and efficiently migrate, retrieve and clone data.
The USB-C port is becoming more popular on new laptops, such as the MacBook, Chromebook Pixel™, and Dell XPS. This new adapter cable bypasses the need to purchase an additional adapter in order to access hard drives and manage data with USB-C enabled laptops.
“This little gadget is incredibly convenient and beneficial for the IT professional because of its ultra-performance speeds, portability and USB-C port compatibility,” said Juliet Wei, Senior Product Manager at StarTech.com.
Features of this product:
- Quick and easy external drive access through the USB-C port on your laptop
- Connects directly to a 2.5” SATA SSD/HDD with no accessories required
- Time-saving data transfer speeds of 10 Gbps with USB 3.1 Gen 2
- Supports SATA I, II, III (up to 6 Gbps)

MSRP for the USB-C Adapter Cable for 2.5” SATA Drives is $42.99 (USD), $56.99 (CAD) and £30.99 (excl. VAT) in the UK.
