New MST Hubs from power three monitors for work or play, maximizing multi-monitor performance by enabling a DisplayPort 1.2 or Mini DisplayPort 1.2 port’s Multi Stream Transport (MST) hubs enable users to connect up to three monitors to a DisplayPort 1.2 or Mini DisplayPort 1.2-equipped computer and offer high-resolution video at up to 1920x1200 per display without draining system resources

Lockbourne, OH - May 27, 2014 -, a leading manufacturer of hard-to-find connectivity parts, has announced the availability of a DisplayPort MST Hub (SKU: MSTDP123DP), as well as a Mini DisplayPort MST Hub (SKU: MSTMDP123DP). The new hubs make it easy for users to multiply their screen area by connecting multiple monitors or projectors to their DisplayPort 1.2 or Mini DisplayPort 1.2 laptop, desktop, or Ultrabook™ computer through a single video port.

The MST hubs are compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 and Mini DisplayPort 1.2 video cards, including AMD Eyefinity’s latest software that allows you to group monitors and arrange them for many different applications i.e. independent displays, and horizontal or vertical video walls for gaming. Additionally, When used with a multi-head video card, the hubs utilize the Multi Stream Transport (MST) capability offered by DisplayPort 1.2, to turn each video output into three distinct ports and offer an added level of scalability.

“Our new MST hubs offer users a simple way to add screen space for a more productive workstation, whether it’s for work or play” said John Mardinly, Senior Product Manager for’s line of A/V products. “From a functional standpoint, these hubs harness Multi Stream Transport capability offered by DisplayPort 1.2 to turn a DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort output into three distinct outputs. Where users will really see the benefit of using these hubs is in not only the graphical quality they offer, but also system performance. Since the hubs operate solely off of the system GPU and don’t use up other system resources, users can extend their screen space without sacrificing performance for scalability. The convenience plus the performance makes MST the best way to connect additional monitors.”

Features of the MSTDP123DP and MSTMDP123DP MST Hubs include:

  • Compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 and Mini DisplayPort 1.2 video cards/sources
  • Supports resolutions up to 2560x1600 on each display (with two monitors connected), Supports resolutions up to 1920x1200 on each display (with three monitors connected)
  • Simple plug-and-play installation Compatible with AMD Eyefinity video cards, including the latest Eyefinity DisplayPort 1.2 video cards, and can be used to create a video wall setup for an enhanced big screen experience
