What is the warranty process at StarTech.com?

If you have a defective StarTech.com product that’s still covered under warranty, we will replace it for you at no charge. To find out if your product is still under warranty, click here.

Note: The replacement policy does not cover products damaged as a result of an accident, abuse, misuse, natural or personal disaster; or any unauthorized disassembly, repair, or modification.

How does the StarTech.com replacement process work?

We offer two options for replacing defective products:


We will ship out a replacement unit within 2-5 business days of receiving the original unit, if the product is still within the warranty period and deemed defective by a Technical Advisor.


Need a replacement product sooner? We can ship it right away, as a cross-ship option is available1. This option requires payment by credit card for the replacement unit in advance, which will be fully refunded within 2-5 business days of receiving the returned unit.

Can I return a non-defective product for a refund?

  • If your product was purchased directly from StarTech.com, you may return it within 30 day from the original date of purchase for a refund. Please note that a 25% restocking fee may apply.
  • If your product was not purchased directly from StarTech.com, you will need to return the unit to the original place of purchase for a refund 2.
