Overview

The SV231DVIUDDM 2-Port USB DVI KVM Switch lets you control 2 DVI, USB-equipped PCs using a single peripheral set at high-definition DVI resolutions up to 1920x1200.

The included KVM cables provide a ready-out-of-the-box solution, while USB Dynamic Device Mapping (DDM) and Display Data Channel (DDC) features work to significantly reduce switching lag-time and improve overall compatibility with your connected display and input devices, saving you time and money.

For the next level in KVM performance, this DVI KVM switch integrates dual-core dedicated processing per channel and innovative, USB DDM technology that enables you to quickly switch between connected computers with next-to-zero delay. DDM maintains a constant communication channel between your USB peripherals and connected systems, avoiding the time necessary for your systems to re-recognize the devices when switching.

In addition to faster switching, the KVM offers All-time Display Data Channel (Full DDC) technology to maintain proper display detection among connected systems, a simple one-touch button for hot-key selection and an integrated 2-port USB hub allowing you to share additional peripherals.

Backed by a StarTech.com 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support.

(2 stars) Not working with gaming mice!

By:
Seems like a nice enough KVM, and switching works fine. However, I instantly noticed that my high DPI, very accurate Logitech G9x was not working well, because the accuracy is totally gone. Moving it back and forth quickly makes the mouse pointer end up in different places every single time, where-as before the switch it was 100% accurate. I would accept a bit of inaccuracy, but we are talking about being unable to point at a normal sized button on the screen without adjusting the mouse position to even get it on top of the button. WIth a description such as "USB DDM technology and Dual-Core design for lag-free switching" and not a single warning about possible compatibility issues with gaming equipment on the product information page, in combination with the price, I would definitely have expected it to work properly. Heck, my old €50 switch works perfectly fine with the G9x accuracy-wise (but not so fine with Windows 7, get a delay on every switch). Live chat with customer support was convenient, so no complains there. Quality seems good as far as I can see, but I just had it delivered and opened the box today, so I cant really tell for sure. Maybe this is not a problem in the US, but not all countries have as generous return policies. I have just bought a €200 paperweight. Or I have to live with constantly readjusting the mouse pointer position which is - honestly - worse than the Windows 7 switch delay with the old mouse that I had with my old KVM... Would only recommend this to people in a strict office environment, where accuracy is not important or people are only using very basic mice/keyboards. Very disappointed.
