This wireless presentation system is a video hub that lets you share the screen from your Wi-Fi® enabled laptop, MacBook or Ultrabook™ on an HDMI® or VGA display. It makes it easier than ever for users to collaborate and deliver presentations in boardrooms and office meetings, with intuitive controls and effortless screen sharing.
The presentation system features both HDMI and VGA outputs and supports resolutions up to 1920x1200 or 1080p. If you're looking to separate the audio from your HDMI video source, the wireless presentation system includes discrete RCA and TOSLINK audio outputs. As an added benefit the wireless video hub has a wired LAN connection enabling computers on your network that don't support Wi-Fi to collaborate, such as your media center or boardroom desktop.
The presentation hub can help you boost office productivity, by making it easier to collaborate and communicate. You can share and switch between up to eight different computers to view documents and multimedia content, which eliminates the disruption of each user having to connect and disconnect each time they want to present information from their laptop.
The system takes collaboration a step further, with innovative features that help capture in-meeting discussions and ideas. You can write and draw directly on the presentation content, or highlight important areas of focus with document markup capability.
The presentation system also lets you transfer documents to other meeting participants or download documents from cloud applications such as Dropbox, so you can annotate your presentation material then easily distribute the outcome of the discussion to your colleagues.
With the video hub, you can turn your VGA or HDMI television, monitor or projector into a wireless display.
In Collaboration mode, you can use the included nScreenShare software to quickly and intuitively share your display between different computers. The software works with both Windows® and Mac computers, making it perfect for conference rooms and classrooms where different platforms may be used.
In Wireless Display mode, you can mirror any device that natively supports wireless display, such as your Android™ smartphone or tablet using AllShare Cast or Cast Screen applications, or your Windows 8.1 laptop, Ultrabook or Surface tablet. In Wireless Display mode, you don't have to install additional software, ensuring it will work for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) applications at your office.
Unlike some wireless video systems that are difficult to configure, the wireless presentation hub keeps your meetings running smoothly with a simple and intuitive user interface. The software features a Moderator mode, which enables you to assign a leader -- such as a teacher, instructor or meeting head -- to better organize the session and control who is allowed to present and share their screen.
Note: This product is not intended for high-definition video playback due to wireless network performance.

As a result of these changes, software packages, like those used in this installation, will need to be allowed within the macOS Security and Privacy settings, immediately after the software has been installed, in order for the device to operate.

Note: The option to allow the software will be available within the Security & Privacy settings for 30 minutes. If the software is not allowed within that time frame, the software must be reinstalled in order for macOS to grant the opportunity to allow it again.
This device's default static IP address is 192.168.59.254.
You should not upgrade your device's firmware if you do not have any issues with the functionality of your device. The only time you should consider an upgrade is if you are experiencing a problem with the device, and you have confirmed that the firmware addresses this problem. You can confirm this is the case by reviewing the documentation included with the firmware or by consulting with our Technical Support team. Incorrectly upgrading firmware can result in diminished performance so it is best to contact StarTech.com if you would like to perform this operation.
You should only use video converters and extenders if it is absolutely necessary to do so. In many cases, most video converters and extenders are not necessary if you purchase the correct cable.

Video adapters passively adapt a cable from one connector type to another. Video adapters do not change the signal type, or change the video standard.
Examples of common applications for adapters include the following:
DVI-I to VGA
RCA to BNC
Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort
Couplers (female to female, or male to male)
Note: You can use a coupler to extend a cable for a short distance. However, each coupler that you use can introduce signal loss, which degrades the signal quality.
Video converters actively process and change the signal type from one video standard and convert it to another standard. They are typically used to convert digital to analog and vice versa, but can be used to convert a digital signal to another digital video standard (for example, HDMI to DisplayPort).
Video converters work over short distances from the source to the destination: up to 15 feet or 3 meters.
Video extenders convert an input signal to a higher voltage for transmission over longer distances and then convert the input signal back to the original video standard. The input and the output signal will match on a video extender, as the same video standard is maintained end-to-end. If a cable is extended with adapters or converters, the signal quality degrades.

This device outputs HDMI video signals. If you have a display or video destination that uses another type of video connection, there are ways that you can convert the video signal or connection. These options are outlined below and organized by the target connection.
HDCP
When you consider whether to convert an HDMI video signal to another connection type, it is important to know if the media that is being converted from the HDMI video connection is protected by High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). If the media is protected by HDCP, you cannot convert to analog video connections because they do not support HDCP. You may experience this issue when you use devices like Blu-ray players, DVD players, and certain gaming consoles.
