The USB2100 USB 2.0 to 10/100 Mbps Network Adapter lets you add a Fast Ethernet port to your laptop or desktop computer through USB.
This compact USB network adapter offers a dongle design with a built-in cable to avoid cramped connections, making it a perfect solution for adding wired Ethernet connectivity to your desktop without opening the case, or to replace a failed onboard network adapter on your laptop system.
Providing half or full-duplex operation, this USB 2.0 Ethernet adapter supports data transfer rates of up to 200 Mbps. The adapter also supports features such as Wake-on-LAN (WoL) and VLAN tagging for added flexibility.

Starting in High Sierra 10.13, macOS enforces stricter security policies than previous revisions. As a result of these changes, software packages, like those used in this installation, will need to be allowed within the macOS Security and Privacy settings, immediately after the software has been installed, in order for the device to operate.

Note: The option to allow the software will be available within the Security & Privacy settings for 30 minutes. If the software is not allowed within that time frame, the software must be reinstalled in order for macOS to grant the opportunity to allow it again.
Updated Big Sur (11) drivers have not been provided to us by ASIX, the manufacturer of the chipset used in this product. In order to fully use this product on your computer the only option is to remain on Catalina (10.15) or an earlier supported version. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this product is currently unsupported in macOS Big Sur (11). No timeline for a possible update is available.

If the USB device does not work after your computer has been in extended hibernation, it is likely that Windows has automatically turned off the USB Root hub to save power.
The steps below outline how to configure the USB root hub to stay on during hibernation, to prevent this from happening.
