For applications that do not support print server software, you can use the web interface to configure the print server for your network. Some advanced configuration options (for example, IP settings) are available on the web interface. You can access the web interface by connecting the Ethernet port on the print server to a computer system.
You require the following components to set up your print server:
A computer system with an available Ethernet port.
An Ethernet cable.
The default IP address of the print server (found in the manual).
Note: Before you continue, make sure that the print server is set to the default configuration. For more information about how to reset the print server to the default configuration, see the following FAQ: http://www.startech.com/faq/print_servers_factory_reset.
To access the print server web interface, complete the following:
Plug the print server into a power source.
Use an Ethernet cable to connect the print server to the computer.
Change your computer's IP address to the same network that the print server is on. For more information about how to change the IP address, navigate to http://www.startech.com/Support and enter your product ID.
Note: Your computer's IP address must be on the same network as the print server, but not have the same IP address. For example, if a print server is on network 192.168.1.100, the computer must be set to 192.168.1.xxx, where xxx is a number between 1 and 254 but is not 100.
Enter the printer IP address in the address bar of your web browser.
You should now be able to access the print server configuration and make the necessary changes for it to work on your network.
