This certified Thunderbolt™ 3 docking station is a compact mini dock, delivering essential connections for productivity. The bus-powered dock connects dual 4K DisplayPort displays, Gigabit Ethernet, and one USB-A (USB 3.2) port and for flexible set up, the attached Thunderbolt 3 cable has an extended length of (11 in./ 28 cm).
Great for editing 4K video or other Ultra HD tasks, this portable Thunderbolt™ 3 to DisplayPort dock supports 40 Gbps of throughput and 4K resolution at 60Hz on dual DisplayPort monitors, through a single Thunderbolt™ 3 port. Run resource-demanding applications on two independent displays without draining system resources.
Connect your laptop to:
At just 2.4" x 4.9" (6.1 cm x 12.4 cm), this dock takes up minimal room on your desk and in your laptop case. The dock's 28 cm (11 inches) attached cable provides extended reach to reduce port/connector strain on MacBooks and laptops on riser stands, or if needed, offers the flexibility to position dock further away from the laptop on your desk.
As many high powered, later generation laptops optimally require more than 100W of power to stay charged, some users prefer to use their laptop's power adapter vs. using their docking stations to keep laptops charged.
This bus-powered TB3 mini dock is ideally suited for those users, providing full Thunderbolt™ 3 docking station performance and functionality, while their workstation laptops are separately charged."
The TB3DKM2DPL is Thunderbolt Certified and backed by a StarTech.com 3-year warranty and free lifetime technical support.

Live Chat (opens in new window)MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13-inch, and Mac Mini systems using the new Apple M1 chip support only a single external display over the Thunderbolt 3 ports, even when connected to a Thunderbolt 3 docking station or adapter with more than one video output. This limitation also applies to using multiple Thunderbolt or Type C display adapters on both Type C ports. This is not a limitation of StarTech.com products specifically, and Apple lists support for only one external display in the Tech Specs for Video Support on the M1 MacBook Pro 13” [external link to apple.com]. Turning off the laptop display or using clamshell mode does not change this.
One option for docking that allows more than one external display with an Apple M1-based Mac is to use a USB-C DisplayLink-based docking station or video adapter that requires a driver install. One dual monitor example is our DK30CHDDPPD, but please contact StarTech.com support for a recommendation based on your specific setup.
Please note: this single monitor limitation does not affect Intel-based Macs with Thunderbolt 3.
